about

BRAVO CANYON. Besides creating solo atmospheric works I have always really wanted to play in a rock n' roll band with my own spin, but its never worked out. Being a huge fan of The Kills, Big Black, Neil Young, I wanted to create a project that dynamically felt like a cross between all of these, and all with programmed drums, and without having to struggle with the hassles of having a real drummer.

We originally gigged twice as a three piece, but lost a member to overseas travel. After placing the project on hold for a year we decided to try it as a duo, which really benefited the music and structure. The recordings are very different to the live versions, which are basically the recordings further refined in the rehearsal process. As such this has created an interesting divide between the record and the live duo. Performances are extremely loud and immersive, with a steak of brutality, whereas on record we're more contained and introspective.

The debut 'Lonesome Road' is a ten track album, traversing a variety of moods, textures and atmospheres. A record very much evocative of classic cinema, heat, desolation. 'Lonesome Road' is to be released in the near future.
